SlotMuseum is the result of a lifetime devoted to the world of slot cars and the work of a collector who has preserved and expanded his collection for more than six decades.
The origins of SlotMuseum
The history of the collection began in 1966, when the collector received a Scalextric Gran Turismo GT60 as a Three Kings' Day gift. It included an Aston Martin DB4 GT and a Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta. That gift sparked an interest that soon went far beyond playing with those first cars and, over the years, would give rise to an extensive collection.
Over the years, he took part in numerous races and competitions, experiencing first-hand an era in which slot racing became a true passion. New vehicles, manufacturers, brands, models and references were added, together with a growing interest in preserving the pieces and the history behind them.
Decade after decade, that gift gradually developed into an increasingly extensive collection. Many of those vehicles have been carefully preserved to this day and now form part of the collection being documented and photographed at SlotMuseum.
More than sixty years after that first Scalextric, this digital museum was created with the aim of transforming a personal collection into an accessible archive for enthusiasts, collectors and future generations.
A growing archive
The collection continues to grow, and SlotMuseum is progressively expanding with new photographs, vehicles and information. The aim is to document each piece and make it easier to identify, helping to preserve and share the history of slot racing.
